It came at a good time because we were still in training and it allowed us to channel our energy and learning into something that made sense to us. After participating in the training and working for several years at the UC Social Innovation Laboratory – CoLab -, generating projects to encourage the development of an ecosystem of social innovation in Chile and channel important changes in our society, we realized that It was time to go a step further, look for new ways and reach other sectors that today are not committed to building a better society and a better future.

This is how 2811 was born, as a space to explore new ways and approaches to the challenges we face as a planet and as a society. In a moment of deep crisis, where we are not only facing the precipice in terms of the ecological limits of the planet. If not, we find ourselves with deep social and spiritual disconnections. It is not necessary to look very hard to see how extremist speeches loaded with hate and exclusion have dominated world politics, how the development model we practice does not ensure a minimum of well-being and dignity for millions of people in the world, how the sense of success is linked to parameters that do not lead us to happiness as human beings, and how we have come to inhabit our territories unaware of the lives of other species and the relationships that sustain ecosystems. 2811 was born because we believe that there is a different type of development – or what some call a good life – than pushing, because we feel responsible for current society and future generations and because we want to be a contribution to better development, a more humane one. .

We work in collaboration with other people and organizations to awaken a sense of urgency to change the course of the prevailing model and our actions as individuals. We believe that change begins with people and that we all have the mission of being agents of change for a better society. That is what mobilizes us and what we get up for every day.
