2811 creates climate action laboratories in Latin America and Africa
Statement / Como 2811 we collaborate and promote, together with universities, communities and activists, climate action laboratories in Latin America and Africa for climate change adaptation.
Young Climathon Linares
The Young Climathon convened more than 80 teachers and 100 students aged 12-19, and planted initial seeds of skills needed to meet the challenge of climate change. The teacher workshop brought to light several aspects of our education systems that we can change to guide the next generation in dealing with the climate crisis.
Students in the 10-hour session of the Young Climthon acquire the necessary skills to face climate change through the resolution of a local environmental challenge.
The invitation was for young people to think about everyday places, like where they always take the bus, and make them more eco-friendly and community-oriented, in order to have a positive impact on climate change. Each student team chose the open public space in Linares to improve, devised a solution to pilot, and built a prototype to present to other teams. In a democratic election, the students judged the other solutions according to criteria including creativity, impact, and collaboration.

2811 at COP25
The solutions of this conference were presented at COP25 in Madrid, here is the video of the presentation: SEE HERE
The conference convened world leaders to discuss the rules of implementation of the Paris agreement, held at Cop21 in 2015. Yet the world’s powerful leaders failed to make any major decisions to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees Celsius. His slow methods of discussion will not address the urgency of the global climate crisis.
Climate Labs 2020
The project seeks to build interdisciplinary and multi-stakeholder laboratories that apply new climate change research and innovations in the territories where the partners are based. Here note prepared by Reset.org.
