How do we do it?
2811 accompanied and advised the Tecnológico de Monterrey to propose solutions to an institutional challenge in its social innovation ecosystem. Social innovation is an emerging phenomenon, which is capturing the interest of different institutions in the world. Elite universities are regularly publishing on the subject, as well as incorporating it into their curricula, campus culture, strategy, budget plans and the creation of new development centers. In this strategic consultancy, a mentor from 2811 accompanied the diagnosis of a challenge and worked on it with the institutional team in a process that consisted of three stages: immersion, mentoring, and closure.
What can be the result of working around a challenge hand in hand with 2811? The process generated the Impact Investment Learning Community project, where Technological students created an indicator outlined by the
Development Bank of Latin America – CAF. Its formulation describes the economic return of mobility applications in the Transport Network Companies (ERT) industry.
How to articulate social innovation with productive and environmental challenges? Among the requirements, it was necessary that the indicator could be applied to any company to demonstrate the level of monetary or financial performance of the same. In turn, the design of the indicator should indicate the possible levels of impact in reducing pollution, particularly air. The indicator takes as a reference the amount (in liters) that a gasoline or diesel car engine burns to calculate the generation of carbon dioxide or CO2.
